Christian Fiction Book Review
If I Were You by Lynn Austin is set in London and America during World War II and the 1950s. **Affiliate link**
It’s an upstairs/downstairs sort of story–the rich girl and the maid.
After the war, one woman went to America, and one stayed in England. All’s well until the one who stayed behind comes to America to live with her husband’s parents and discovers that her friend has impersonated her and taken her rightful place as their son’s widow.
All’s well until she discovers her friend has impersonated her…..uh-oh!
Uh-oh!
I enjoyed this book and the twist on a WWII story bringing in both England and America.
The characters are well-written and enjoyable. As I read the story, I liked thinking about the what-if questions.
What if someone impersonates another to improve their lot in life?
What if it worked?
What if it didn’t?
If you like clean Christian fiction and you’re looking for a good book, give this one a try. I give it four stars ****
